Who we are

Brazos Insight Meditation Society is a community of meditators seeking peace, understanding and wisdom through mindfulness in meditation and daily life.

What we do

We meet several times a week to practice sitting and walking meditation, to study books, and to talk about our practice. We currently have no leader and view each other as spiritual friends who support us on our path.

Our history

BIMS began in December 2001 under the leadership of Ann Dingus, a longtime resident of the area and a student of Rodney Smith, leader of the Seattle Insight Meditation Society. Since Ann’s death in 2008 we have continued her work. In 2010 we collaborated with the local Zen group and others to form the Brazos Buddhist Association.
